The European Association of Percutaneous
Cardiovascular Interventions (EAPCI) was officially launched
after a vote by the ESC General Assembly at the World Congress
of Cardiology 2006 in Barcelona, Spain.
The Association was created from a joint
venture between the now dissolved ESC Working Group on Interventional
Cardiology (WG10) and EuroPCR.
The European Association of Percutaneous
Cardiovascular Interventions (EAPCI) aims at contributing
to the Mission of the ESC by developing a platform of clinical
and scientific exchange between all health care professionals
involved with percutaneous interventions.
The objectives and activities stem from the
synergy between the assets of EuroPCR and the former ESC Working
Group on Interventional Cardiology.
Specifically, the EAPCI will contribute actively
to the programme of the yearly EuroPCR course, which becomes
its offical annual meeting. More
